Chappell Roan Condemns Fans’ “Creepy Behaviour”
Chappell Roan – the musician behind hits like “Good Luck, Babe!” and “Pink Pony Club” – has publicly criticised the disturbing behaviour of some fans.
In a series of TikTok videos shared on Monday, 19 August, the 26-year-old American singer-songwriter expressed frustration and concern over the harassment and stalking that she and her family have endured, both online and in person as her popularity skyrockets.
Despite her debut album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” reaching No. 2 on the US charts and topping the UK charts, Roan made it clear that such behaviour is neither acceptable nor normal. She criticised fans who feel entitled to her time and attention, stressing that being in the public eye doesn’t justify these invasions of privacy.
Roan also addressed the unhealthy dynamic of parasocial relationships, where fans mistakenly believe they know her personally due to their connection with her music. The singer revealed that this intense pressure has made her consider leaving the industry altogether, especially as her family’s safety has been compromised by obsessive fans.
Roan’s candid remarks highlight the darker side of fame, where the boundaries between public persona and private life are increasingly blurred.
